Monitoring of Star Lake started in 2007. Since then, spring turnover phosphorus concentrations have fluctuated with 2007 and 2010 results being below the threshold value.
In 2010, E. coli levels were generally low compared to the previous two years of sampling.
Bacteria levels at STR-3 were higher than at other sites, with E. coli being over the MLA upper limit. Elevated bacteria levels observed at STR-3 are likely due to the influence of the adjacent watercourse.
Four years of sampling has not indicated a bacterial issue.
